Specific Gravity of Concrete

Material
Specific Gravity
Lbs/Cu. Ft
Concrete, Asphalt 2.24140
Concrete, Gravel2.40150
Concrete, Limestone w/Portland 2.37 148
The weight of a batch of concrete varies with its composition, but a typical concrete mix about 150 pounds per cubic foot (pcf). Specific gravity is the ratio of the weight of a cubic foot of a material to the weight of a cubic foot of water, which is 62.4 pcf. Therefore, the specific gravity of a typical concrete mix is 150/62.4 or 2.40.
